Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using SignHello at signhello.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use SignHello.

2. What SignHello is

SignHello is an educational web application that teaches hearing people about Deaf culture through short, interactive lessons. Core lessons are free to use. Some lessons, like Unit 3, are paid one-time unlocks. We reserve the right to introduce additional paid features in the future.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or reverse-engineer any part of the app
• Use automated tools to access the app (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose

5. Purchases and refunds

• Paid units, like Unit 3, are a one-time purchase that unlocks that content permanently on your account. They are not a subscription and will not renew or charge you again.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Because paid content unlocks immediately after payment, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, except where required by applicable law.
• If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@signhello.com within 7 days of your purchase and we'll take a look.
• Prices are shown in USD and may change at any time. Changes will not affect content you've already unlocked.

6. Intellectual property

All content in SignHello — including lesson text, illustrations, the Helo mascot, and app design — is owned by SignHello. You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce any part of it without our written permission.

7. Educational content disclaimer

SignHello's lessons are designed to build awareness and cultural understanding. They are not a substitute for formal ASL instruction or professional Deaf culture education. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that all content is complete or current.

8. Availability

We aim to keep SignHello running at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, pause, or discontinue features at any time without notice. If we ever discontinue a paid unit you've already purchased, we'll make it available to you in another form or provide a refund.

9. Limitation of liability

SignHello is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
